Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin was hit with at least two accidents on the same road late last month. Both car accidents happened on Highway 41 and injured at least 5 people.

In Eldorado, Wisconsin, a one-vehicle rollover occurred on Highway 41. According to the Fond du Lac County sheriff's office, the accident happened near the intersection of Sales Road.

Light snow was falling at the time and ice had covered the roads previously, combining for a recipe that many winter drivers fear. Traveling south at the time, the 20-year-old driver of the vehicle from Appleton, Wisconsin, lost control and landed in a ditch on the side of the road. The vehicle came to rest on its roof.

The driver and his passengers -- both from Appleton -- were transported to St. Agnes Hospital, where two of them were treated and released. One of the passengers was transferred to another medical center.

The other accident on Highway 41 occurred when a 16-year-old girl driving a van was headed south. The teenager lost control of her vehicle and a Jeep Cherokee headed in the same direction collided with the driver's side of the van.

The van and the teenager were resting in a ditch on the side of the road when the driver of the Jeep came to check on her. Another driver had also stopped and was preparing to do the same. When the two had exited their vehicle and were near the van, another vehicle -- this one driven by a 17-year-old -- lost control and crashed into the concerned drivers. It also collided with the van in the ditch. Both pedestrians were taken to the hospital and released after treatment.

But no matter the weather, drivers have an obligation to drive safely and be vigilant of their surroundings. If it is snowing out, drive slower and leave plenty of room to stop. A driver can still be held liable for an accident if they were driving too dangerously for conditions.
