On Christmas night, two police officers in Wisconsin were making a traffic stop. Suddenly, a dangerous driver appeared and struck one of the officers while he was outside of his squad car, and he was injured by the impact. The accident is something that could easily happen to everyday people, and not just police.

The unknown driver was driving the wrong way on a local road when his car hopped a curb. The vehicle then crashed into one of the police officers from the Milwaukee Police Department. According to authorities, the driver remains at large.

During an interview with a local news group, the head of the Milwaukee Police Association had many negative things to say about the accident and the driver. He said that while most law-abiding drivers who are responsible are not out running over members of the police force, the driver in this case showed "callous" behavior with his actions. The head of the MPA also noted that this sort of accident happens far too often to police and average citizens.

After giving a description of the vehicle, the head of the MPA urged the driver to come forward, making an appeal to that person's conscience.

According to him, all officers are trained to be alert and ready at all times. Both officers involved in the stop were allegedly aware of the oncoming vehicle, and they attempted to avoid the danger but could do nothing about it.

As police have also acknowledged, this type of accident is affecting everyday people. People should not have to fear being carelessly run down by negligent drivers who think the laws do not apply to them. Someone who does this could be held liable in civil court in a personal injury lawsuit.
